Welcome to the December 2015 Undoing Racism Workshop!

Training Update:

Please join your fellow training participants for a debrief and follow-up conversation on the work to undo racism in our institutions and community:

    Wednesday, January 13
    6:30 to 8:30 pm
City of Austin Learning and Research Center
    2800 Spirit of Texas Drive
    Austin, Texas 78719

Thank you for your commitment to undoing racism. The Undoing Racism Workshop has been developed and will be presented by the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond. Through dialogue, reflection, role-playing, strategic planning and presentations, this workshop challenges participants to analyze power structures and privilege that hinder social equity and prepares them to be effective organizers for justice. Workshop trainers will be from a team that includes more than 40 men and women with years of experience organizing with grassroots communities for civil, labor, and welfare rights, social service and health reform.

Our trainings are strategically balanced by race, gender and age to achieve the workshop goals. We also make a sincere effort to meet participant requirements, including diet, access and childcare. So we will ask you for that information as part of registration. Dress comfortably. Bring a pen and paper for notes. Trainings are limited to 40 participants. If your circumstances change so that you cannot join us, let us know as soon as possible so that we can invite participants on the waiting list.
